Today’s Christmas Eve and I would like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday’s.
Poland’s mostly Catholic and we celebrate by having a Christmas Eve dinner with our family after which we open our presents. That latter part was always an advantage when living in America where pretty much everyone opens their presents the morning of Christmas. As kids we were more than happy to continue the tradition of opening presents on Christmas Eve. Another difference is that we have two full days of Christmas celebration, not just one as is the tradition in the States.
Karolina flew to her parents to Idar-Oberstein, Germany to spend Christmas with them since they couldn’t make it to Poland this holiday. I spent it with my parents and grandparents in Wroclaw. Here’s a few Christmas dinner photos.
It’s super fun listening to my grandparents’ stories from decades ago. Talking about their childhood Christmas during WWII and just shortly after, one would never guess that their stories took place such a short time ago. It really feels like that could never happen. Our lives are so easy now in comparison, it’s humbling.
Merry Christmas everyone!
